Dick, if thats what you think then you think wrong. There is nothing different about a Mail.app <CR>. Mail.app sends "quoted-printable" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quoted-printable where one might note the spec mandates:
> Lines of quoted-printable encoded data must not be longer than 76 characters. To satisfy this requirement without altering the encoded text, soft line breaks may be added as desired. A soft line break consists of an "=" at the end of an encoded line, and does not appear as a line break in the decoded text.
Yahoo! is broken in that Yahoo! converts soft line breaks described above into hard breaks. This is not a problem unique to Mail.app. Yahoo! (wrongly) decodes the text and reformats before sending.
To see your own emails in the raw as Mail.app sends, go to your Sent folder in Mail.app, select an email, and hit command-option-U. Your long lines will be wrapped at 76 columns (or less) and each line will end with an equals sign.
