I recently upgraded from a G4 Mini to the new "aluminum" Intel Mini.  I was able to copy several of the universal binaries and my Address Book with no issues.  There is a "migration assistant" application but I couldn't get it to work.  Apple support figured that it may only work when upgrading from an older Intel version of OS X.

I have Debian Linux and Windows XP installed in Oracle's free VirtualBox, which works nicely.
