[Ham-Mac] imac g3, mac os 9, and linux

Hello,

I have an imac G3 that i did some upgrade to with the memory and hard drive
and I have tried to install Linux on it and have failed miserably... I've
tried about 4 different flavors to no avail...  I'm so sick of trying I'm
about to toss this perfectly good computer out the door. I was trying to put
it together for my 3.5 year old daughter...  I'm willing to try installing
Linux one for time if someone would guide me through the process....

If it fails again I think I will just get a copy of the latest version of
Mac OS 9... which i think is 9.2.1  Does anyone know where i can get a copy
for a reasonable price?
