Robert,
I'm not sure what you mean by being set to "Data/PSK", I assume you mean " PSK D" if so that will not work for anything but receiving and sending with your CW memories and a paddle.
Switch to "Dara A" for PSK.
Connect the Line in and out ports on the K3 to your Mac, either directly of via a usb "sound card" like the iMic. For now the simplest way would be to connect it directly to the Mac in and out connectors. Select those in System Preferences under Sound and set the level.
BTW, the K3 is set up differently for AFSK levels than most radios, check the manual.
I recommend you use Cocoamodem for the waterfall and decoding, especially if you have the Sub receiver and will ever try RTTY.
You can connect several programs to the Mac sound card. For instance, I have run Cocoamodem and Fldigi side by side.
BTW, an outboard sound card is nice but not needed if you have USB speakers on your Mac since you can route the system sounds to them instead of the line in/out.
My main set up is to run the K3 connected to MLDX and Cocoamodem connected to an iMic for audio. I also run RUMped for crunching a call against my master DXCC list - country, band and mode needs.
Have fun!
