[Ham-Mac] new iMac: parallels vs. fusion?

It's true that Parallels doesn't recommend suspending the Win system because later changes to it via Bootcamp could mess up things but I don't consider that a big problem. What I don't understand is typing the password for Parallels to mount is something I haven't experienced.
I select the Bootcamp install and it mounts just like a Win image would.
