You can do both!

I use Spot and have MLDX use it as it's source.  

IOW, I connect to the cluster and have MLDX connect to Spot for the QSY ability and I also have RUMlog connect to Spot since it does the best job displaying countries worked/confirmed, mode and band.

BTW, to get a bit on subject, I use Parallels and have it use my Bootcamp XP installation so I don't have to keep more than one XP install updated.  Also, that allows me to boot in to Bootcamp or go to XP from Parallels depending on my needs.
