[Ham-Mac] new iMac: parallels vs. fusion?

Chris,
I have used Parallels, Fusion, and Bootcamp. In my opinion, parallels and
fusion are comparably identical in terms of what you want to do. Both of
them work excellent for running most windows applications. (I run Autocad
inside of Parallels) However, one thing you may not want to have to deal
with is the plugging and unplugging of your microham device. The problem
with the virtualization software, (at least in my experience) is one OS has
to control the device. If you are using Maclogger DX, and then want to
switch over to N1MM, you have to start the Windows XP and then unplug/replug
the USB cord. This will bring up a prompt window that asks what OS you want
to associate the microham with. There are additional challenges you may
encounter such as how Expose reacts to N1MM when entering data in.
Personally, for all of my windows ham radio stuff (N1MM, HRD, etc) I use
Bootcamp. I have the partition set up as FAT32 so I can transfer the data
back and forth. The biggest advantage to me is I keep a clean installation
of Windows that only runs Ham Radio software.
