I don't know what Boyd means by unreadable backups.
I guess he means outside of TM. There are utilities around that will
do that if you insist on not looking at the files with TM.
Dick, follow the instructions I sent and you will be able to view
that invisible folder.
I have had excellent luck with TM ever since Leopard came out. The
only glitch is an error message saying it couldn't do a backup once a
month or so and the next backup takes fine. I think that comes from
an activity like syncing going on while TM is working. It really is
not a problem since you only lose one hourly backup and it happens
very infrequently.
I do keep a Superduper clone that I do once a week for off site
storage and to have a bootable clone.
