Hi Dan,

Great news! It means driver, serial rate, cable, and radio are all
working which is the bulk of the troubleshooting!

Not sure about this final problem as I am not a RUMTrol user but it
sounds the you need to turn OFF or ON some combination of CTS (CLEAR
TO SEND), DTR (DATA TERMINAL READY), and RTS (REQUEST TO SEND)
emulated buy the USB converter chip in that cable.

Does the RUMTrol manual help with any suggestions?

Experiment with those preferences and I think you will find the
correct combination. Basically it's flow control of data.
Clearly your able to send data so all you need to do is inform the USB
chip you ready to receive data. In fact it sounds as if the radio is
transmitting the data it just that the USB chip thinks your computer
is not ready to receive. A changed setting your software should
correct that. Be sure to test sending again after you make a change
as you might turn off something need to send data.

Again let us know how the pioneering goes!
