Have you tried setting the Safari "User Agent" to something other than
Automatic?
You would need to have the "Debug" menu active in Safari.
If you don't you can do a web search or one article I've read on it
is: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20030110063041629
( basically when Safari is NOT running in Terminal do the command " %
defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1 " and then
restarting Safari. )
I've found certain websites refuse to respond well to Safari 3.xx -
Wordpress Editing specially so! Simply setting the User Agent (what
the browser reports to the remote website) to be Safari 2.xx fixes it
for me about every time.
Hope this is of some help!
