Hi Bob,
Try downloading the lastest drivers. They have been updated and the
ones you have on CD maybe old and may not support latest OS. It should
be a double click install after downloading. Enter your admin
password. After installer is finished it a good idea to reboot.
You can find latest drivers for Keyspan by going here and matching
model with driver.
http://www.keyspan.com/downloads/
With the Keyspan plugged into your USB you should see a new serial
port appear in any program that can use serial communications.
I use simple Zterm application, but MacLogger DX and fldigi, can used
as well.
I'm willing to bet about 75%+ of the Mac HAMs are using Keyspan
adaptors. They work, however we need more details on what errors your
getting and how you determining that drivers are not being installed.
Drivers are only loaded on demand so if your Keyspan isn't plugged in
it might not be visibly loaded in System Profiler. Bob what version of
Mac OS X are you on?
You should see a file called KeyspanUSAdriver.kext inside your /System/
Library/Extentions.
in ketextstat command you should see
com.keyspan.iokit.usb.KeyspanUSAdriver.
Also try plugging in adaptor directly into USB on the Mac. If your
using a USB Hub it maybe a flaky port so try to test directly into one
of your Mac USB ports. Add the hub into equation later when you
confident it working directly first.
I think we can help we just need more info. Or may above will lead you
to a solution?
