It looks like my computer is within that range of serial numbers, so
maybe I can get his fixed on them.

Apple has extended the warranty for these machines. I have an iMac
that had the bad caps and it wouldn't boot up occasionally and
finally went dead. Apple replaced practically the whole computer,
