DICK - Have you tried RumPed?

It is a contest logging program for the Mac which uses CocoaModem as
a modem.

It requires MySQL, a database available free. If you already have an
SQL database, you are in luck, otherwise you need to download it and
install it. The documentation tells you how. You will also need a
MYSQL administrator program and where to get that is in the RumPed
documentation.

This is not all plug and play, but it is not terribly difficult either.

RumPed supports CQ WWDX, unfortunately it only supports it for DX not
USA. The exchanges are different. It has an unsupported contest
format that appears like it will work for the US though.

I have never used all this in a contest, but I have it all up and
running receiving RTTY on 20M now after about an hour's work. I need
to get the digiKeyer reset again so I can transmit, but this may all
work. - Duffey

I have received a few email inquiries from Mac users about using
cocoaModem
for the upcoming CQ Worldwide DX RTTY contest. Sorry, the short
answer is
the CQWW DX RTTY contest is not one of the cocoaModem 2 version 0.36
supported contests.

In preparation for the upcoming CQWW DX RTTY contest, I took Chen's
advice
and have the Windows MMTTY RTTY application running on this 24-inch
Intel
powered iMac under Parallels using a SignaLink USB sound card. MMTTY
works
okay; however, I still prefer the FB RTTY decoder and contest
interface of
W7AY's cocoaModem 2.

The CQWW contest is summarized on

<http://www.hornucopia.com/contestcal/weeklycont.php>

and the critical item is logging the required exchange.

Exchange: 48 States/Canada: RST + (state/VE area) + CQ Zone
All Others: RST + CQ Zone

The standard cocoaModem templates I have tried will log RST, States/
VE Areas
or zones but not both (states and zones). Please comment if you have
programmed a cocoaModem template that meets the CQWW DX logging
requirements.

The CQ Worldwide DX RTTY is a fun contest with many stations on the
air on
all bands. If you want to join the fun without submitting a formal
contest
log, use the cocoaModem "RST + QSO Number" template. Sending the
correct
exchange is no problem - just adjust the exchange macros. You will
be able
to log the zones in the QSO number box. You can upload the log to LoTW;
however, the CQWW robot will barf on your Cabrillo .log file due to
the lack
of logged States/VE areas. Yes, I know you can log them on paper and
manually add them with a text editor. Not fun and too hard!

Please do not bother Chen W7AY on this topic. He has made it very
clear to
me he has no interest in expanding the contest interface.

Ps: I am not a MacLoggerDX user; however, it may offer a logging
solution
for registered users.
