Dan,

One option is sell the Buxcom to a PC user and buy a SignaLink USB
Integrated USB Sound Card interface.  I have had good luck the cocoaModem
direct or via the SL USB.

If you want to stay with the Buxcom interface, consider buying a Griffin
iMic.   It has a USB on one end with Tx and Rx the other side.  It should
work fine with your MacBook. Many are satisfied with the Griffin iMic.

If you can find a used iMic with the older (more expensive - 2ch 20 bit)
chipset,  get it vs. the newer (less expensive - 2ch 16 bit) iMac.  Either
version will work with cocoaModem.
