I am not a Time Machine fan so having something like SuperDuper is very
important to have backup boot drive. As you noted the SuperDuper web page
indicates they have a new Mac OSX 10.5 version prepared but are not ready to
release it at this time.
FYI, I experienced a SuperDuper failure with a RED note saying it failed to
copy ACLs. If try to repair your permissions using the 10.5 Disk Utility,
it may come back with all kinds of ³ACL found but not expected on...²
errors. I don¹t think the Disk Utility cannot repair these Access Control
List errors.
Once I cleared the ACL errors (that was not easy - see below ) and the OSX
Disk Utility said everything was okay, the current version of SuperDuper
did its thing and I was able to boot from the cloned Leopard SuperDuper
backup drive.
Another Mac user sent me a note saying he used the utility Mac Pilot
<http://www.koingosw.com/products/macpilot.php> to clear his 10.5 ACL
errors. I download Mac Pilot and went to the "Tools" icon in the menu bar,
selected the "Disk & Files" and then clicked on the button that says "Wipe
Access Control List Data." Mac Pilot did its thing for over an hour but it
worked. Be WARNED another user points out that wiping out the ACLs could
defeat a security feature in Leopard.
Apple has been totally silent on the ACL issue. I got tired of waiting on
Apple to do something, so I used the utility and it worked great. Apple and
the entire team of 10.5 beta testers should be ashamed of releasing Leopard
with the ACL permissions mess. I do not recall any permission issues
inTiger.
The only other issue I have found is with my hp printer software, but hp
stuff seems to be hosed on every new Mac release. FYI, the printer failed
because it detected and could not deal with an ACL error.
Sorry about the long winded shaggy dog story. Have you checked your
OSX 10.5.0 permissions?

Ps: Excuse the word wrap errors. My Entourage plain text mail format adds
a <CR> ever 72 characters with no user option to stop it.
