Blasphemy! You are NOT allowed to say things like that on a *Ham* list!
Break it open with a 10 pound mallet if you have to, but NEVER surrender
to a consumer tech!
A Torx T15 is usually required for closed Macs. Laptops use smaller
sizes.
If it were me, would open it, blow out dust, and disconnect/reconnect
every cable one at a time. Based on the clock time error is likely the
contents of the PRAM went wacko and prevented boot. New battery is a
good idea.
Also research for the key sequence to zap PRAM at boot. If you know it,
you'll never need it. Something like Apple-Option-P-R, all 4 at once.
