A $20 USB external case will solve that problem.

Its not so nice of a price when you can get a new MacBook for $1019 with
Intel Core 2 Duo 1.83 GHz CPU, 512MB, 60GB. Looking at it that way there
is no way I'd take a used PowerBook for $700 over a new MacBook.

Recently bought a "cheap $299" PC laptop which quickly doubled in price
before it was usable. MacBooks and MacBook Pros are pretty darn
reasonable.

Also check http://store.apple.com/. In the lower left corner is a link
for recertified refurbished computers. Currently no interesting deals.
Buy new from MacMall for $1019 or refurbished from Apple for $949. Have
seen MacBook Pros listed for $1250.

My PPC applications ran faster on my 1.83GHz MacBook Pro under Rosetta
than on my G4-400 Titanium PowerBook.
