See bottom....

I connected the FT-1000mp to the Digi Keyer today.
So far, so good. MacLoggerDX seems to be working.

Out of the box, one has to configure the type of radio
interface to use by selecting jumpers inside. Mine is
RS232, but Icom, Kenwood, and Yaesu are all supported.

When I first started it, I had DTR (and RTS) checked in
Prefs in MLDX so it began keying.

I obviously have a lot of things to try, but there is progress.

My only concern with this was that the CW does not use
a K1EL Winkey, so it is just DTR and RTS for PTT and CW.
I intend to use it with WriteLog on a laptop and to use it
for CW contests. I don't want timing issues.

I was just typing there and there was smoke coming out
of the DigiKeyer. It was still talking to the radio with smoke
coming out. Now what? It smells. It completely unplugged
and smoke still coming out.

Darn!
