Well, for one reason or another, I had always stuck with VHF packet.
Having an always-on internet connection, I see no reason to use
packet radio, not that packet wasn't/isn't great.

Yes, and I set my filter to see spots only from K6 and K7 areas.
Seeing the whole world is interesting, but i found many of the
spots to be unusable.
I have ordered 2 of the I/O Gear USB-RS232 cables from New Egg.
I also "won" 2 of the Keyspan cables from an online auction site
which will go nameless at this time, but it starts with "e."
Those will get me going, for sure. I want maybe 2 for my PC
laptop and 2 for my eMac.
I have read that the MacLoggerDX works with the microHam
keyer which I have read uses the K1EL Winkey chip. I am
going to build one of the K1EL WinKeyer kits one of these
days. I just wonder if it will work with the Mac? The kit I have
is USB connected directly.
