[Ham-Mac] VHF vs Internet Packet Cluster in MacLogger?

I just got MacLoggerDX up and going again after
only little use years ago.

In the past, I have used 2m VHF packet cluster,
but I am seeing no reason to do that since the
Airport connects fine with the Linksys router and
satellite internet.  Would there be an advantage?

Also, anyone know off the top of their head how
to filter spots to those somewhat local?  There
is an internet connection in Apache Junction
running AR-Cluster, but I am getting worldwide
spots at this moment.
