I've released a very simple control program for Icom radios, BCSIcom.
It's fairly no-frills, allowing the frequency and mode to be set and
read. It's meant to be used to help verify that the CI-V interface,
cabling, etc are all working correctly before dealing with advanced
programs that have more complicated setups, leaving you to scratch
your head as to why things aren't working. It can even scan the CI-V
bus, reporting the address of any radios found. Useful if you've
forgotten what address a radio is set to, and don't really want to
open it up to find out ;-)
Several users of my USB CI-V interface have found it to be very handy
in troubleshooting. It's freeware, and available for OS X (Universal
Binary) as well as Classic and even Windows (gasp!).
BCSIcom is available for download on the USB CI-V Interface page, the
URL is: http://www.blackcatsystems.com/usbciv/
