[Ham-Mac] OS9

Hello Patricia,
Thank you for taking the trouble to respond. No, I never did find a complete
OS9 package. However, I could have taken the 3400 to a local Mac dealer and
had them load in the new operating system, but, somehow, other things had
greater priority....but I would still like to upgrade the 3400 to its
maximum potential, and use it for amateur radio purposes. Throw it
away....well, I bought it brand new, and paid the full price, but then,
never used it !! Because,I have other , earlier Mac PowerBook duo's and
their duodocks, which have all the software I need, installed. I then
bought a desktop PC system, which could handle the internet traffic better
than my stable of Mac Powerbook laptops, and this response to you is being
processed on a cheap one month old PC system with all the bells and
whistles....However, I still use my Macs, for wordprocessor and drawing
applications.........If, Apple ever produced a dual system unit on which you
could reliably run Mac and PC software, from DOS to Windows/Vista, without
loss of speed, and resort to third party PC software emulators, I would
certainly consider returning to the Apple Mac fold. Of course, that does not
prevent me from buying a one year old, used Mac lap top, just for amateur
radio use, but I would like see how the 3400 performs first........with
regard to Fawlty Towers, one of my most favourite TV shows, and I was
working at Television Centre, when they were being made.....but you must be
thinking of Cleese!! sometimes the internal mail system did get it
wrong!!.........sincerely, John.
