[Ham-Mac] Xastir and Keyspan USB to serial adapter

Hi all,

I have installed macports and xastir on my imac G5, both  
installations are complete and xastir works fine on the internet all  
be it without any sound yet (i'll work on that one), I have a TM-D700  
and want to connect it to xastir with a keyspan USB to serial  
adapter, has anyone done this or anything similar.

I have tried entering the path for the device into xastir for  
example /dev/tty.USA19H4b23P1.1 but nothing happens and the program  
just freezes.
