Sorry for late reply, I've been on holiday.

I had the same problem when I purchased 2 of these some time ago for use
with my Dual G4 and a PC (I like keeping mice as similar as possible). RFI
made the mouse think I had pressed both buttons - I couldn't stop it.

I rang Apple and complained they clearly didn't meet the European CE
standard, even though they were so marked (ok, perhaps expecting them to
cope with 100W of RF only 2 feet away was pushing it :-).
Apple tech didn't even understand what I was saying either.

I did a deal, returned them and replaced with a Logitech S-530-MAC cordless
keyboard and mouse. Apple wouldn't refund, so I had to do an exchange
(sometimes its easier to go with the flow).

I've had no problems with the Logitech stuff (uses 2.4GHz I think).

For the PC, I bought a Logitech 650 Wireless Laser mouse (I think that's the
model), it was the closest mouse to the Mac one.

Both these products have been very satisfactory (they do not interact with
each other and no RFI probs), I really use the extra buttons on the mice and
the K/B (never thought I would) - configured the iPhoto button to launch
MacLoggerDX :-).

K/B uses 2 AAA batteries, which were almost dead when I returned from 2
weeks hol - they have lasted over a year.
Both mice go through 2 AAs every 2 months - used approx 16hrs a day - I use
lithium rechargeables for them.
