I have to apologize to Patricia, KE5JEX, for sending her on a Mac wild goose
chase. For background there is a blurb that is part of the EchoLink FAQ at

http://www.echolink.org/faq_installation.htm

that says...
----
However, if you are running a Macintosh with OS X, you can use the program
EchoMac by N9YTY, which is compatible with EchoLink. If you do, please
first register here to begin the validation process. (Support for EchoMac
is not available through the Echo Link Web site.)
----

If you click on hot link "here" it sends you to

http://www.echolink.org/register_data.asp?u=http://www.dogparksoftware.com/E
choMac.html

So far so good but when you enter your call and email address it comes back
with a server error saying

==========
description The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it
from fulfilling this request.
==========

To get around the bad Mac server link I now recommend

Just go to the Echo Link Validation page at

http://www.echolink.org/validation/

and enter your call. It will lead you to several options to obtain
validation by mail or credit card for $1 plus options for sending a scanned
copy of your license by e-mail. They even have a place for LoTW users to
apply their digital signature.

There is something really hosed on the validation page for Mac users.

Good luck!
