Your right Dick, It didn't come with a machine specific startup disc.
It was heading for the tip. I have tried starting with a system 9.1
startup disc though, but it wouldn't have it.
However, I have had a bit of progress since my last posting. I
unplugged the video lead and pressed the on button, and the computer
started up, all-beit without any video. Or rather, the power supply
started going, and is still going now. But no disc action, not even
from the CD (except when I put a CD in the drive. The drive spins but
no more than that). I was holding the C key down.
I have plugged the video lead - from a good working monitor that is
attached to my Performa 630 - into the iMac, but I still don't have
any video on that either.
So, it seems that the computer power supply is ok, but maybe a
problem on the graphics side. What do you think?
Someone did suggest that the Flyback transformer and PAV board may be
faulty, but I'm not sure I know what he was taking about.
