Hello,
If you have TH-D7A(G) or TM-D700 transceiver, interested in APRS and
want to be a beta tester, you may want to take a look at the TH-D7-
APRS-X application. It can be freely downloaded from http://
homepage.mac.com/kd6cji , file to look for is TH-D7-APRS-X.dmg
This is a mapper application that receives APRS data from your
transceiver and displays it on the map. I will work soon on
documentation, but briefly:
TH-D7-APRS-X is NOT general purpose APRS mapping application, it
works only with Kenwood transceivers specified.
It comes with 3 maps build in (which most likely will be useless to
you). There is a Map menu that allow you to create a map(s) for your
location (internet connection required), also you can add a map/maps
that you may already have. It needs to be in JPG or GIF format and
you need to know the center latitude and longitude of the map and
it's height and width in degrees.
To communicate with transceiver you'll need serial to usb adapter and
driver installed.
Application runs on Mac OS X 10.4 and is supposed to be universal
binary, but I don't have intel based mac to test it on.
There is settings screen to set up your location, callsign and other
aprs related data.
