[Ham-Mac] Space after a Period

Standard HTML is designed to "ignore" extra spaces. If you want two
spaces after a period, you need to add the "hard space," as you
describe.

However, modern usage is NOT to use the extra spaces. As a former
journalist and public relations professional, I draw guidance (as do
all of my professional peers) from the Associated Press Style Book,
which specifies one space after the period at the end of a sentence.
