[Ham-Mac] Has anyone been able to get a Elecraft K2 up and running?

Phil;

The easiest way to get the mac and K2 working is to use a USB adapter
which has a DB-9 connector, such as the Keypan USA-19. Be sure to use
the cable the Elecraft has you build as part of the KIO2 or KPA100
kit to connect the K2 to the serial adapter. The K2's serial port is
NOT standard RS-232 except for pins 2, 3 and 5. Connecting RS-232
levels to the other pins will cause component failures in the K2
interface. You can then use a program such as MacK2 to test the K2
interface, and of course MacLoggerDX should do its normal great job
of talking to the K2. You will need to select the proper USB-Serial
adapter in the program's serial setup dialog. The K2 communicates at
4800-N-8-2. You may also select just 1 stop bit - while we spec the
port at 2 stop bits it will work with either.

As an aside, the K2 and most of the Elecraft hardware products are
designed on Macintosh systems using McCad schematic capture and PCB
layout tools. Unfortunately we have to do the firmware on Windows
systems since the tools run only there.
