Dick,

It would be under ports. Does the entry under USB for the device 
itself look "ok", that is, no warnings, etc?

When you install the drivers under windows, two drivers get 
installed.  One for the usb device itself, one for the virtual com 
port. I wonder if the second driver didn't get installed?  Maybe try 
uninstalling and re-installing? Or just update the USB device driver 
(to the same one you are using now) and see if it installs the second 
driver. The joy of windows...
