Good Question!!
I am going to wait for a response on this, also, since the Mac User
group that I am involved with, IOMUG, often suggests going to a
high-end, extremely large ext. HD.
I think that Todd is perfectly correct, when he says those things also
have the opportunity to die. It's like putting all your eggs into one
basket.
Whenever I b/u, I simply use CD's, although some feel that they only
have a life span - which I can't see how - and that you can lose that
also.
I guess my question would be, what is the foolproof means of saving
anything?
