I'll give my USB CI-V a shameless plug ;-)
It's based on the FTDI USB chipset, and the drivers work great on the
Mac. There are even Intel Mac drivers, works great on my 20" Intel
iMac. Also Mac OS 9 and even Windows (gasp!) drivers. Most linux
kernels have FTDI drivers built in now, so it should work there as
well. The virtual com port appears like a normal serial port, so it
just "works" with most any software.
