[Ham-Mac] Yaesu 857 and Mac, what do I need?

Hi all!

This made me really laugh! The experience so far is a bit less
happy... Anyway, her's the story so far:

I found a Keyspan seriel adapter that I bought years ago to run an
old LaserWriter on a modern Mac. That didn't work... I might need a
new one, but.... And here's a question:

I hav a LDG Z100 Autotuner, and it uses the CAT port. So do I have to
eighter use the CAT or the tuner?

I'm on the brink of giving up here. So many cables, so few holes to
put them in:-)

The rest is rambling:
When I connected the Yaesu to the PC and the free Ham radio deluxe,
it worked without any fuzz. But on the Mac? Nada!!

It's really sad that all the free programs are PC-based. I would like
to buy the MacLoggerDX, and it must be the best program on any
platform, but getting it connected is a pure butt-pain...

It might look like I'm never getting the radio connected to the Mac...

Best 73's and thank you all for helping out here!! LA6UOA/Trygve:-)
