Hi Dick!

I have som comments to what you write, but first let me thank you for
letting me know of your experience. It's SO usefull... I have a
"Black hole" of knowledege about the way the radio and the Mac (Or PC
for that matter) speak together.

It's long time ago, long before I joined the Ham-communety (Been
licenced for about 1 year now), that I bought the iMic for
digitalizition of old LP records. Worked perfect back then, but I
haven't used it for a long time. I found it very useful for getting
that job done. I will try it again for connecting the FT-857 to the
Mac now. Great idea! I must find a way to make a galvanic separation
of the two... Maybe you have a sollution to that to? Don't wont to
fry the soundcard or the radio.

So to using the VOX "mode". I have som experience to that to. It
seems like my Kenwood TS-440S interface is only keying from the PC
(With HRD) on 20m band... Go figure!?! I really didn't care and told
my self that I can work around it by using the VOX modus, so why
bother... And again, how to turn of TX when the transmission is
finished? On the Kenwood it's easy: It's a switch on the top of the
radio.

I'm on a new pathe here... Inventing the wheel one more time, so to
say...:-) I know that I have to "redraw" totaly the way I operate on
the radio, given the new platform, new radio and new program. And
totaly new "cabeling" of the equipment. But what the heck! I'll just
have to learn it all over again:-) No problem, thanks to people like
you guys here!!
