It is the USB/Serial adapter that is not being seen in MLDX because
there is no driver loaded for it.

ANY USB device will show up in the System profile but it won't work
unless you load the driver for it.
There is no built in support in OS X for USB/Serial adapters - you
need to load the driver from the USB/Serial adapter manufacturer.

You need a driver for the USB/Serial adapter.
