[Ham-Mac] TS-570 / iMic mismatch.

Lon N3ZKP,

Thanks for the clarification. We are comparing grapes and bananas. Your
Donner interface and MicroHAM setup sounds nice. Be thankful the iMic works
with your setup. I use the SignaLink SL-1+ because it is what I have and it
works perfect provided I use the G4's Built-in audio. I just finished
logging 244 QSO's in the WAE RTTY contest and that is pretty good part time
effort for me.

Based on the suggestion from Steve, VA3SPH, I tried the iMic again toward
the end of the contest on strong station calling CQ. I changed the menu 34
AF audio output from low to high and the iMic still acted like an
attenuator. There was little on no signal getting to the software and the
decoding through the iMic was terrible. I sent Steve some off line screen
shots showing the signal levels with and without the iMic. I got tired of
messing with the iMic and went back to the built-in audio port on the back
of the G4.

My guess at one time was the problem may be an impedance mismatch but others
say it should work. It is a good thing the G4 has a built-in microphone
line-in port or I would be in big trouble.
