I'll add another tidbit from HP on 4-May-05 regarding Tiger. This comes
from HP (not me) and may be helpful to some with HP printers.

I could not find the step 1.c below but I have not upgraded to Tiger. The
"Printer Setup Utility" mentioned much be new to 10.4 as I could not find it
in version 3.0. Maybe it will work once my 10.4 is delivered.

Thank you for contacting HP Customer Care.

We understand from your email that you would like information on Mac OS X
10.4-compatible drivers for the Photosmart 1115.

Mac OS X 10.4 includes compatible drivers for the Photosmart 1115, revision
2.7.1 pre-installed into the operating system. If older drivers have been
installed into the operating system in an attempt to restore functionality,
you will need to restore the built-in drivers by following these steps:

1. Reset the print system (NOTE: this will remove any current installed
printers on your Printer List as well as remove any custom print settings):
     a. Open the Macintosh HD, then the Applications folder.
     b. Open the Utilities folder and launch Printer Setup Utility.
     c. Click Printer Setup Utility in the toolbar at the top left and
select Reset Print System.
     d. Click Reset at the prompt.
     e. Enter your Macintosh username and password, then click OK.
     f. Quit the Printer Setup Utility.

2. Delete the HP folder:
     a. Open the hard driver (be default, labeled Macintosh HD).
     b. Open the Library folder.
     c. Open the Printers folder.
     d. Drag the HP folder to the Trash (NOTE: this will remove all HP
printer driver software).

3. Reinstall the HP driver software from the Mac OS 10.4 Tiger DVD:
     a. Load the Tiger DVD into your Mac.
     d. Double-click the disk icon that appears on the desktop.
     c. Double-click the folder titled Additional Installers. Click the
Install button.
     d. Select the destination drive (usually labeled Macintosh HD).
     e. Select only to install the Printer Drivers package.
     f. Click Upgrade.
     g. Once the installation is complete, Quit the installer.

4. Setup the printer in the Printer Setup Utility:
     a. Open the Macintosh HD, then the Applications folder, then open
Utilities folder. Launch Printer Setup Utility.
     b. Click the Add button.
     c. Click the Default Browser button.
     d. If the printer is connected and turned on, it will appear in the
box below. Click once on the name to highlight it then click the Add button
below.
     e. Once the printer appears in the Printer List, attempt a test print
from an application.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to reply to this email.

Once again, thank you for contacting HP Customer Care.
