[Ham-Mac] Controlling computer-related line noise

Michael - There are a number of things you can try. In no particular order:

1. Wrap the line cord to the PS and the cord from the PS to the Laptop
around toroids. Use a  FT-140 or larger core of 43 or 77 material. You might
try the split cores sold at Radio Shack.

2. Use transformers or optocouplers in the AFSK and audio out lines.

3. Wrap the AFSK and audio out lines around toroids simsilar to those in 1.

4. Make sure that you are not picking up the noise from the outside of your
coax. Use a torroid to choke this possibility off, The same cores in 1 will
work, unless you run high power, then type 61 is better.

Try these. if they don't work, then more drastic measures are necessary. -
