[Ham-Mac] OT - Apple Repair Turnaround

I have had a similar experience with AppleCare. I bought a 14" iBook
over a year ago and it went in for logic board repair twice over a
period of a few months. (had something to do with bad display
components) When I received it back the 2nd time, it had a set of
vertical blue lines on the display.

I called Apple and described my problem, expecting the usual quick
turn-around box thing. Instead, the rep said, "You've had a lot of
problems with that iBook. We can take it back in for repair, or I can
give you a new replacement." I took the replacement which bumped me
from a 900MHz G3 to a 1.2MHz G4.

Yeah, I had problems with their product, but Apple's customer service
made it painless. I am so confident in Apple that I turned around and
bought a 15" Powerbook .... AFTER the Intel announcement!

Yes, Apple Care costs extra, but so does my car insurance and they
don't provide service anywhere near as excellent as Apple.
