I have had good luck with both - just the cabling requirements differ  
for RS-422 vs RS-232.

The microHAM devices also include level converters and cabling for  
DTR and RTS CW keying...

This can save you a few dollars if your rig requires a level  
converter like the CT-17, FIF-232C or CT-62.
