I'm beginning to wonder if there is a problem with the audio-in on my 570.

I think the problem is in the mismatch between the SL-1+ and the 
iMic. Even using the LINE selection on the iMic I get more than 
enough drive for the computer. I run 5 on the output level on the rig 
and mid-point on the SOUND control panel. If I try the MIC position 
on the iMic, the input level on the control panel is full scale with 
the CP level at 25 percent.  Probably a dumb question, but have you 
tried the MIC position on the iMic's input?
