[Ham-Mac] iMic / ACC2 Port

I am trying to drive my TS-570 with an iMic through a Donner
Interface to the ACC2 port and I can't seem to get a signal into the
rig.
I have no problem with audio from the rig to the iMic, just the other
way around. And yes, the volume in the sound control panel is all the
way up, the input level on the 570 is all the way up, and I have
confirmed signal all the way from the iMic through the interface to
the connector.
Is the output of the iMic insufficient to drive the rig through the ACC2 port?
My whole point in using the ACC2 port was to eliminate having a rat's
nest around the mike connector and having to adjust mike gain back
and forth when switching in an out of digital.
Additionally, the usual "fingertip on the audio input" to get a hum
produces nothing.
I am open to any all all suggestions except "use the mike input"; I
already know that one. :)
