[Ham-Mac] Question for Mac programmers

Hi,

I am hoping that someone knowledgeable will answer the question or give 
an idea. I have a file created by PC program. Data is stored on the 
file as int, float, double and so on. As PC and Mac use different byte 
ordering reading it directly does not do any good. Looking through 
Apple's docs I found the way to convert integers both short and long 
but I am confused about floats. Can anyone help?
