Work on contesting apps has the potential to positively contribute to 
a lot of software that runs or otherwise supports the use of radios 
and related equipment for activities that don't fall within a general 
definition of "contesting" through spinoffs, secondary products, and 
new capabilities.  Whether folks contest or not, if they use OS X or 
any un*x for that matter, they'll benefit.
