First - thanks to all those subscribers to this list who have supported
the call for interest in a comprehensive contest logger for Mac.
(Also thanks to those on the list who are not contesters who have put
up with the recent contest-related threads!)
In the background I have been discussing this further with a few of you
including Don Agro.
We would like to explore the consensus of requirements for an insanely
great contesting program for Mac some more. I think this is best done
under some structured headings/threads so that we can do all of the
important aspects justice but in a focussed way.
In order to move these discussions off this general mailing list, a new
list for the purpose has been set up:
<http://seven.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/macloggercontest>
Can I ask all those of you who would like to follow and especially
contribute to the further discussion to join this new list as soon as
possible.
At the end of this weekend, (to give people a chance to see this and
join) I will launch the first of a number of discussion threads on the
new list to cover specific topics. The aim will be to collect
comments which essentially allow us to arrive at a consensus on the
relative priorities of features such as those that appeared in my
original hallucinations posting to this list.

Finally, It is certainly not my intention to want to dominate any
discussion or specification of features etc. but since I have
experience in organising and working with a variety of types of contest
teams (small single efforts, HF only, VHF only, Microwave contesting,
multi-operator but small "do it to enjoy" groups, as well as big-gun
"do it to win" multi-multi efforts etc.) using a wide range of existing
popular contest loggers, I am very happy to invest time discussing this
and co-ordinating the consensus to help Don get that firm grip on what
is required to make the ultimate contesting application.
Thanks again and I look forward to seeing many of you on the other list.
