There was a recent poll on the rtty-contesting reflector on what equipment
and software contester are using. The result was pretty much as expected
with freeware MMTTY being on of the applications of choice. I was surprised
to note a single "Other" entry from me with a Mac G4 running cocoaModem.
My conclusion is Mac users have little or no interest in RTTY Contesting or
use PC programs due to the lack of Mac contesting software. Many of you have
KAMs, PK-232's and there is a large number of MultiMode and DarwinPSK users.
How about dusting them off for the ARRL RTTY Round Up will be held over
January 8-9, 2006. The rules are described at
http://www.arrl.org/contests/rules/2005/rtty.html
Jump in and get your feet wet. You may like what you see and become
interested in RTTY Contesting. Consider yourself warned.... it can be
contagious. If you see me calling CQ, please give me a contact.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
