That's correct. But re-installing has become so really easy when
using the Archive & Install function, it saves a lot of time trying
to track down the specific faulty file in the User folder (which
contains thousands of files).

The advantage of using Archive & Install is that it installs a new,
clean version of all the System-related files on your hard drive,
while keeping all of your User and login information, so you don't
have to re-do all your settings for network, Internet etc. Then you
can proceed normally and when you encounter something that needs re-
installed, you can check for any bad effects after you do so.
In the long run, much less time-consuming and frustrating than trying
to track down corrupt files in the User Library folder among the
thousands of files there.

Let me recommend StickyBrain, which is an absolutely excellent note
manager from Chronos
http://www.chronosnet.com/Products/sb_product.html
I use it to store all kinds of useful information for instant
reference later when memories of the source are long gone. Notes,
pictures and all manner of things are right at my fingertips, indexed
however I choose.
Standard disclaimer, I don't have any interest in StickyBrain or
Chronos other than being a satisfied customer.
