I am not familiar with MacAPRS (but hope to soon), but usually ports can be set in System
Preferences --> Sharing. If you have the Firewall turned on, you can poke a hole through it by
adding the port to it and allowing traffic to go through, If you are set up with an AirPort
network, then you need to go to the base station using the Admin program and tell which port(s) you
want open and what machine it is open to. You are given a Public port and a Private port. If you
set both the same then any traffic to that port will be routed to the machine.

The documentation for MacAPRS states:

"Mac/WinARS can also operate as an APRS server, it allows connections on
port 14439 or port 23. When you connect you get a dump of the current
station list from the server."

However, both of these ports remain closed on my PowerBook 1400 running
MacAPRS 3.6.1 and I have not been able to find anywhere to turn this option
on. Can anyone tell me what the secret is?
