[Ham-Mac] Control freq's

I have a little question,
I am putting up a weather web cam for a friend of mine and I have a 
DTMF decoder/ controller and I wonder what freq I can use to alloy my 
friend to start and stop a VCR pan zoom and focus the cam from remote. 
I though of using a simplex 2m freq but would a repeater control freq 
be better?

BTW my simplex repeater made from a 7500 and simple apple script app 
works great.
When I get the schematic drawn up I will se about posting it.
