[Ham-Mac] Help Needed With Setting Up Multimode

I'm having trouble setting up my station to work the digital modes.  
I'm using my new G4 12" Powerbook with Multimode (version 4.4) and am 
using a Bux Comm Rascal (Model Mark V GLX) opto-isolator and a Keyspan 
USB Serial adaptor (model USA-19HS).

I can receive ok (given that I'm using an attic antenna), but when I 
designate the serial adaptor as the PTT serial port in the Multimode 
Preferences my transceiver (I've tried both my FT-817 and my SGC-2020) 
begins to transmit (even before restarting Multimode to make the change 
effective).

Any suggestions appreciated.
